Please read through and answer the 20 questions on my design questionnaire found on the website, click on this link to upload the document: Questionnaire When you have completed the questionnaire, please email to: admin@aboutthymegardening.co.uk I will contact you and arrange an appointment to discuss your requirements.my first initial visit is free, where wIwill show you examples of our work and discuss your completedquestionnaire. If you then decide that you would like About Thyme gardening to design your garden, I would then arrange a second visit.
I will then take measurements and photographs of the garden, this will take a few hours to complete depending on the complexity of the garden and size. I will also require information on services (drains, cables, pipes) from you that are situated within the design area. Please could you also inform me of any TPO (tree preservation orders), statutory bylaws, conditions, permissions that may be involved.
Once all the information has been gathered, I will then draw up a design and a planting scheme. This will then be sent to you for your approval. If you also require plant care instructions, please do let me know at this stage.
Once the final design and planting scheme has been agreed by you, I will then source all the materials and plants for the project using local suppliers and UK grown perennials.
I will then arrange and confirm dates with you to start the work. You will be fully consulted throughout the project to ensure your completely happy with the work. Unless you would like to do the work yourself.
Terms & Conditions
The Initial garden visit is free. I will discuss your completed questionnaire to find out your ideas and desires for your garden. If you live 30 miles or more away from our offices, then I charge travel expenses. If on this visit you would like About Thyme Gardening to design your garden and it is convenient to start taking site measurements, design and planting schemes my charges would apply.
Once the design and planting scheme have been agreed, I operate a 50% upfront payment before work can commence on site.
Payment on completion of the project is due within 7 days from the date of invoicing. Large projects will be invoiced at each stage of work completed.
I will supply all materials and plants for the project and I will add a cost for selection and collection of plants and materials as I want to use local suppliers and be able to view and choose exactly what I want to ensure you get the best quality products. However, if you wish to source your own plants/materials, please do let me know. Once the plants have been delivered and/or planted please ensure they are watered (regularly in warm weather). The client is responsible for the aftercare of the plants, lawns laid, seed and plant replacement. Although I do buy all our stock from certified growers, pest and disease free. Plants are still susceptible to pests/diseases and adverse weather.
I will charge for disposal of waste from your site as I incur a cost at the local refuse centres due to the fact it is classed as commercial waste. Therefore you can dispose of waste yourself or I will do it for you but there will be a charge to cover the cost of dispersal including the time to do this.
About Thyme gardening cannot take responsibility for the plants/lawn and seed once the garden is finished.
We can however, draw up a plant care package to aid in the future care of your plants. This can help to ensure future healthy growing plants. Please be aware that some plants can be poisonous to humans and pets.
